Trailblazer

What is Trailblazers?
Trailblazer NMD & ABC engaged 80 primary 7 children from six schools to explore good relations through filmmaking.
Led by experienced artist-facilitators, children develop animation and moving image skills while building friendships and positive attitudes across communities.
The programme spans 16 sessions, featuring single-identity workshops and a cross-community celebration where the children showcase their films and take part in team-building activities. By easing the transition to secondary school, the project promotes social cohesion, cultural understanding, and confidence-building among young participants.
Project goals
The project aims to build positive relationships among children from diverse backgrounds at a key transitional stage.
Through animation and film, children explore themes of friendship, respect, and inclusion, fostering open-minded attitudes. The programme enhances communication skills, promotes social cohesion, and encourages creative expression.
By culminating in a shared celebration event, Trailblazers NMD & ABC helps children develop friendships, respect for different traditions, and a shared vision for the future.
